When
asked to prepare a biography for this web page the
thought made me a little uncomfortable. What do I say?
How do I convey to the reader my feelings for this
art?
My feelings are pure and simple: Photography is my passion,
my first love, and my life. Photography is what makes me,
me.
I
have been photographing professionally for over twenty-three
years. I am very fortunate to have had some amazing photographic
opportunities throughout my life. I am professionally
trained as a Commercial/ Industrial Photographer. I have
worked for Boeing International, NASA, US Army, Phillip
Morris, Booz-Allen & Hamilton, Sy-Coleman / L3Com,
Estes-Cox and Centinella Medical Hospital as a medical
surgical and advertising photographer. Many of my photographs
have appeared in major publications such as Village Voice,
Darkroom and Camera Magazine, Air Defense Magazine, Studio
Photography & Design, BW Magazine and numerous medical
journals and books. I enjoy the corporate world of photography;
however, my unique way of seeing has led me to my current
focus of high fashion and fine art.
Bringing
a different perspective or vision to my client is what
I do best. The cross process, high contrast, painter
and unique lighting techniques I incorporate in my photography
brings a little different visual to my clients. Not the
norm! I enjoy previsualizing and brainstorming with the
clients. The end goal is coming up with a unique look
that makes the client stand out from the rest of the
competition. Not too many photographers are willing to
go out on a limb with their art, except me.
Though
photography is going in a different direction with digital,
I am enthusiastically embracing what the future has to
hold for the world of the photographer. It excites me
to see the challenges that lie ahead. The same vision just
a different way of interpretation. |
